Irina Dreerman is a Special Education Teacher who has been providing services for young children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, as well as for their families.
Irina was born in Ukraine (Former Soviet Union) and moved with her family to Israel at young age. Irina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Haifa University (Gordon College of Education) in Haifa, Israel after her honorable discharge from Military Service in General Command Center of Israeli Army.
Irina has tremendous experience working in different schools with children and adults. After completing her Master’s Degree in Teaching from Moscow State Pedagogical University in Moscow, Russia, and prior to her relocation to the United States, she was a director of two nursery schools for autistic children for 5 years in Haifa, Israel.
Irina is extremely motivated and results-driven professional with exceptional leadership, communication, management, and teaching skills. The use of ABA, DIR, TEACCH and MILLER`S systems, as well as her personally developed methods in individual and group programs, helped her and her staff to be effective in meeting the current and evolving needs of individuals with ASDs and their families. Schools under her management achieve excellent outcomes in the treatment of the kids with ASD and parents from all over the world bring their children to attend these schools.
Irina dedicates a lot of her time and energy to educate international community and professionals on benefits of early start of the treatments for people with ASD. Irina is absolutely positive that children with Autism who start intensive behavioral treatments as early as possible will acquire independence and establish the foundation on which you can build a happy and productive life. They will show substantial gains in language, academic performance, social and adoptive behavior a lot faster. Also, one of her goals is to help families understand and cope with a child with ASD which can only be achieved by providing them with information that is based upon the best and modern scientific research and medical evidence.
Now Irina is bringing her knowledge and experience to the United States and practices in Connecticut. She uses the latest scientifically validated cognitive and instructional strategies to empower each person to learn his/her own way. Her strategies reduce frustration and provide a sense of pride and accomplishment. She is implementing a wide range of teaching methods, some of which are not available from other specialists.
In her spare time, Irina loves spending time with her husband and 4 kids. She enjoys classical music, reading, ice skating, table tennis, swimming, cooking and traveling.
